SHOOT FROM THE HEART : TAKE YOUR DIGITAL CAMERA BEYOND THE AUTO MODE

A DSLR BASIC REFRESHER CLASS

Prerequisites:

A Digital Single Lens Reflex Camera DSLR ( A camera where you can change lenses)  is preferred. DSLRs available to try out at the workshop or for rent if needed. $30/day

A basic Digital Point and Shoot camera with Program, A, S, TV or Automatic Modes

Knowledge of uploading images to your harddrive PC or laptop

Do you have a Digital Camera and want to learn how to figure it out? Do you want to go beyond the AUTO mode and learn how to use the different settings?

Are you ready to awaken the artist in you and start shooting images from your heart?

Do you want to learn how to take digital photos that are PROPERLY EXPOSED with great composition?

Do you want to  learn how to use the proper shutter speed, aperture, ISO, depth-of-field, AND take your camera OFF of the automatic settings & start using the manual mode?

If you answered yes to all of the above, join Toni & Joe Camarillo of Tonic Design Studio Photography for a 3 day, 3 hour HANDS ON camera workshop.

COST: $150.00 PLUS TAX = $162.30

Workshop Schedule:

Two sessions available per day. Limited to 5 attendees per session.

Choose between a MORNING workshop  session ( 9:00am to 12:00pm ) or an AFTERNOON session (1:30pm to 4:30pm)

Workshop Dates:
5/24, 5/25 and 5/26
5/28, 5/29 and 5/30
5/31, 6/1 and 6/2
6/5, 6/6 and 6/7 – Afternoon session on 6/5 and 6/7 will be from 3:30-6:30. 6/6 session will be from 1:30-4:30pm
6/12, 6/13 and 6/14
6/19, 6/20 and 6/21

WORKSHOP FORMAT:

DAY 1:  You will learn  how to use the different modes and options in your camera and why you want to use them. We will also cover principles of design and composition and offer quick tips on how to take images that grab your audience’s imagination. Hopefully we can inspire you to get excited for the following day where we get to do hands on lab and apply what you’ve learned.
DAY 2: We will go out on location and shoot together as a group, applying  what we discussed the evening before. Toni & Joe will be there to work with each student as they apply what was learned the day before.
DAY 3: On the final day, we will meet back at Tonic Studio.  We’ll grab coffee and review the images taken the day before, looking at them with a critical eye, talking about what is good what could be improved and how to do things to make those improvements. Finally, we will also look at your images through the eyes of an artist, practice refining that “eye” and choose the best image from your shoot.
Course will be limited to 6 students in order to keep the focus on each student.

We were there for their wedding day as they vowed to spend forever together. Click here to view their beautiful La Conner wedding.

And so it was so exciting to get a phone call from her, asking us to photograph her maternity and family portraits. Their little girl is going to be a big sister and she is having TWINS. How exciting is that!

We spent a Sunday afternoon at Northern State Park in Sedro Wooley to capture this beautiful stage of their life.

Little Ava will soon be a big sister to not one but TWO siblings! How exciting is that. And Tara, she is even more radiant and beautiful now as a pregnant mom of twins.

I’m not quite done editing yet but couldn’t help but share these sneak pee images from their day. There are so many other gorgeous images but I will save those for the full blog post.
